It concerns mainly the cross-country regions where there are few job possibilities. After the political changes in 1989 the Czech citizens have the possibility to work abroad, mainly in Austria and Germany. This possibility is used mainly in the cross-country regions where the applicants for the job can commute every day. The number of certifications which the applicants for this type of migration to Germany need proceeded in the mentioned regions of Plzen and Strakonice in 2000 and 2001 between 600- 750. The numbers of work permit (for short stay and long stay) didn't reach 100 in the region of Plzeň in any of the mentioned years, 50 in the region Strakonice. There isn't any agreement between the Czech and Austrian part according to which the candidates for every-day commuting would need the certification from the Work Office. That is why it is not possible to verify the number of the candidates. The concerns about the mass migration of the Czech population abroad after the entrance of the CR to EU are not justifiable. In the end it is possible to claim that despite some short-termed disadvantages which the extention of the EU will bring it is possible to suppose this process as the contribution in the long-termed view. The results of investigative project were presented during International seminar "Consumer protection in South Bohemian region" on 21 November in Tabor. This seminar took place under the auspices of South Bohemian mayor and in cooperation with Association of Czech Consumers and Department of travel industry. The conclusions of seminar and research approved the rightness of Department of trade scientific - investigative orientation to the consumer protection problemacy. The process will consist in monitoring the effectiveness of the measures applied to particular components of the environment, in the evaluation of the effectiveness of subsidies and EU funds. The results obtained so far clearly indicate the orientation of prepared projects as well as proper indicators for the evaluation of outputs, results and impacts of the projects which were already realized. The prepared system will allow for feedback in the sphere the decision on the effectiveness of the applied measures in the fields of interest. Primary data was acquired by means of questionnaires and the research carried out at the beginning of 2002 included 151 respondents. All meat parts such as loin, neck, ham, belly, shoulder and knuckle of pork are according to consumers available in the Czech shops and some of them are too expensive (ham, loin). The neck, belly and knuckle of pork were perceived as soft after preparation and at the same time fat. A nice appearance was positively evaluated in the loin, ham and shoulder of pork which are less fat. It is evident that in most cases consumers evaluate better the qualities such as lower content of fat and greater softness after the preparation. Associated with it is also the evaluation of convenience in use and a nice appearance. This proves the appropriateness of breeding of slaughter pigs for a higher share of lean meat. The paper deals with an approximation to probability distribution of this random variable by using beta distribution and triangular distribution. Basic characteristics of the triangular probability distribution are derived and compared with the corresponding characteristics of the beta distribution with the same values of optimistic, pessimistic and most likely estimate of the random variable. Further, results of some probabilistic calculations in stochastic projects are compared, if the beta distribution or the triangular distribution was used for an approximation to the probability distribution of random activity durations. All derived relations are illustrated by a simple concrete example.
